Student Council

What is the Student Council?

Student Council is a student government organization that is open to students in grades 6-12. Those students who wish to run for an officer’s position prepare a short speech and the student body elects the officers for the next school year.

After officers are selected, student representatives (male and female) are elected by the students to assist the officers and attend the monthly meetings.

Student Council is divided into two sections:

Junior Student Council represents grades six through eight.

High School Student Council represents students in grades nine through twelve.

Each club sponsors numerous activities throughout the year including Homecoming, May Day, and various school projects and dances.

High School Spirit Week

As part of a homecoming tradition for Piedmont Academy, the High School Student Council sponsors five days of “Spirit Week”.  The council uses these days to raise funds for various projects around the school.
